London seems very far away. The tinkle & glint of a gentle fountain illuminates the buttery August sunshine and a firm breeze stirs the herbaceous borders, whose velvety hues suck up the afternoon light.
Up and down the country thousands of people throng together to feel the love and compare the ideal imaginary inspiring sunny festival with the reality, which may even outshine their wildest dreams.

However, the days of high summer catch up and suddenly September's not so far off, the pulse of the year changes somewhat and mud is rinsed off tents before they are packed away for a few more months. Yes, I've seen a lot of butterflies today, and no, I didn't kill any of them, not even the alluringly squashy red and black caterpillar which took its life in its...fuzzy bits? when it crossed a popular coastal path on the sunniest Saturday in August.

I will be playing a solo show at this really nice night at the cross kings, on york way, as per the attached picture flyer, on 29th Aug. It is free. I will be on shortly after doors. I'm gonna play whatever the hell I feel like, which at the moment will probably include some nod towards country, as it's that sort of night, and some new songs. It probably won't include the Bach suites arranged for guitar.

Candythief FULL BAND will be playing a fundraiser for Action for Children on 3 Sept at Imbibe bar in Southwark. If you are feeling fly, you can come for a bbq and drinks and bands, if you are feeling a bit altruistic you can come just for the bands which is a tenner, and it's for cheriddddeeee innit, the flyer for that one is below.

After that, band members will be somewhat scattered to the four winds pursuing various things so full band gigs will be thin on the ground for the forseeable. Try and still your heaving sobs; all is not lost.
