24·10·09 / Candythief at jango.com & Gig at Leith Tape Club, 5 Nov.
After some serious scientific research pioneering a new form of renewable energy ( = use self as solar panel. Generate energy to write songs/record albums/arrange gigs/keep body connected to soul etc by lying in the sun for quite a long time. Top up circuits with suitable fluids as required.) Candythief are shaking their fur, brushing their paws and Playing A Gig.
In Edinburgh, at the Leith Tape Club, on 5 Nov. http://littlepebble.co.uk/lp_theleithtapeclub.html is where you get tickets, which cost £5. It is a small venue, capacity 40, so not a bad idea to book. Lovely acts on the bill - Withered Hand & James Lowe. They record the show and choose a couple of tracks from each band to put together a cd of the night too, and the sound is carefully done to make for an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately no matter how much sunbathing you do in Edinburgh, it doesn't generate enough power for a PA, & you will probably increase your carbon footprint by catching pneumonia and taking up hospital space. So you'd be better off indoors listening to some music. Candythief have been allocated 100 plays on Jango.com (an internet radio station not unlike Last FM, you put in the kinds of bands you like in and create your own little radio station, and it plays other stuff on the basis of your choices.) If another 41 people rate us, we will be put on rotation on an ongoing basis which would be AWESOME.
The way you rate bands is to add them to your radio station (by putting the band name in the search box and clicking 'add') and when they get played, you can rate them by clicking 'like & love', they will also come in the 'song history' list and you can rate them from there.
So if anyone already listens to Jango, or fancies checking it out, it would be very greatly appreciated! We've got about 90 plays left at the moment, and have been listed 2 days so far, so I guess we'll be up there another week or so.
Muchas gracias!
